Goal Setting: an Attempt to be Productive

As you can tell from the name of my blog, productivity is not always my strong point. I always get things done for school (at the last minute) and work, but sometimes I slack on the little things I should be doing on a daily basis. I absolutely HATE cleaning. It’s just not something I was made to do. I also am usually okay with things being messy (much to my father’s dismay when I was living at home). I think my father’s need for everything to be neat and clean, cause me to rebel (probably the only thing I’ve ever rebelled from) and be as messy as possible. I really have to clean on my own time and it has to be my idea (the rebel in me).

Much to my boyfriend’s dismay my apartment has become quite messy. I just have trouble keeping up with everything and when I actually have free time I would much rather lay on the couch than hang up clothes. So to combat that and to help get my school work done, I set little productive goals.

Goals for this week:

  • Finish my outline for my professional paper lit review on Thursday. Since I’ve already written the lit review, I just have to go thru the lit review and make it in to an outline 🙂
  • Clean up my apartment
    • Laundry
    • hang up all the hoodies that i won’t wear for months due to the 100 degree heat in vegas (there’s a pile on my couch)
    • pick up everything off the floor that shouldn’t be there.
  • STOP SHOPPING
  • Start working out again
  • Go grocery shopping and start making lunch/dinner to save money.

So these might all seem so mundane to you, but without laying my goals out in a list I’ll lay in bed all day on Thursday (my only day off for the week) and feel bad about myself afterwards. I find it so hard to motivate myself on my off days, I really do just want to follow my anthem, the lazy song by bruno mars and lay in bed all day!

So normally I would post pictures, but I’m not ready to show the world what my mess looks like, you have to get to know me and get invited over to my place to see it.

What gets you motivated??
