My dad really wanted to check out the Hoover Dam and my mom really wanted to check out Lake Mead, so we turned that in to a nice Sunday adventure. Since I had never been to Lake Mead and hadn’t been to the Hoover Dam we got directions from the concierge. I may have misread the directions, but it actually worked out better, we skipped the traffic getting to the Dam and got to drive thru the whole Lake Mead national park. The whole area is so beautiful and not a far drive outside of Vegas. But I really don’t think words can express it the way pictures can so enjoy 🙂
Now on to the Hoover Dam
I hadn’t been to the dam since I drove over it during my move to Vegas two years ago. It was really cool to see the new bridge, so you don’t have to spend 2 hours stuck on the dam! When I drove over the Hoover Dam two years ago it was 125 degrees and I was sweating the with A/C on full blast in my car. Luckily it was over cast the day I went with my parents. We took the short hike up to the new bridge and walked across to get the views of the dam. It’s amazing to think how they built the dam so many years ago!
