Looking Back at 2011

Why yes I have been a little MIA towards the end of the year. I just wasn’t in the mood to write and I didn’t want to blog if my heart wasn’t in it. Lots of fun things have been going on, but I chose to just enjoy them and not worry about taking pictures so I could blog about it later.

Whenever the year ends I always take the time to reflect back on what happened and what I can learn from it. 2011 has definitely had its ups and downs, but I’ve had a lot of fun along the way. Before starting the blog I travelled to Hawaii, San Diego, Orange County and Disneyland, and Charleston.

Then in May I started my blog. And traveled to Peru, which you can read about here, here and here. I spent my 26th birthday at one of the most beautiful places in the world, Machu Picchu

It’s one of those places you just have to visit and experience yourself. So peaceful and amazing.

I spent my summer interning with the World Series of Poker and watching my good friend Phil make the November 9.

My parents came to Vegas and I had so much fun pretending to be a tourist doing this and this. Oh and my parents gave me my favorite toy.

Soon after my parents visit, I GRADUATED grad school with two masters degrees. Why yes I am a big nerd and proud of it!

Then I rejoined the real world with a new job that I LOVE!

I’ve also recommitted myself to working out and began lifting weights, doing to group exercise classes and running. During my hiatus from blogging I’ve committed myself to run the Rock N Roll Las Vegas Half marathon next December. I’ll be starting slowly by running a 5k in March, 10k in August/September and the half in December. I also have some other plans in there, so hopefully they’ll work out.

I’m excited to see what 2012 brings for me, I’m sure it will be filled with ups and downs, because that’s just the way life is. I’m looking forward to bringing in the New Year watching Bruno Mars perform with a 9 piece band! And truly believing when he sings that I’m beautiful just the way I am 🙂

Sending you all lots of love and thanks for taking the time to read my blog, I never expected anyone to read it (except my mom) and am always surprised and happy when someone tells me that they read my blog and like it.
