Well I survived week 4 of couch to 5k. While it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, there were certain points where I kept thinking how bad this sucks. I’m just starting to realize what people have been telling me, some runs feel amazing and other runs just suck. And I can’t let a bad run discourage me. For some reason my Monday runs are always the best, I always feel strong.
I even had the urge to run a 4th day this week but decided against it so I don’t burn out or injure myself. The runs this week were run 3 min, walk 1.5 min, run 5 min, walk 2.5 min, run 3 min, walk 1.5 min, run 5 min. I was worried about the 5 min runs, but I paced myself and had no problems finishing them.
I ended the week with a good strength training workout. Today starts a new week of couch to 5k, all the runs are different this week and it ends with a 20 min run with no walking, definitely nervous for that one, but it’s all about pacing myself and believing I can do it.
In other exciting news I signed up for online personal training with Tina. I’ve been reading her blog for over 6 months now and am really excited to start working with her! She is a runner so I know her workouts will compliment the running and help me become stronger.
Time to get off the couch and start week 5 of couch to 5k. 🙂
